Every Progressive Tier,
Priced Individually

Progressive lenses aren't one product — they're sold in design grades, and the grade changes how wide and distortion-free your reading, intermediate, and distance zones feel. Here's every tier we carry, with its published starting price, so you can see exactly what separates a ฿7,900 progressive from a ฿40,000 one.

Tier Best For Starts From
01 · Standard First-time progressive wearers with reading power up to +1.50 D. Comfortable for reading and phone use. ฿7,900
02 · Premium Reading power up to +1.75 D. Zones roughly double the width of Standard — noticeably easier on computer work. ฿15,000
04 · Elite Any prescription strength. Minimal "swimming" distortion, short adaptation period, near-flagship comfort. ฿25,000
05 · State of the Art Any prescription strength. Freeform, fully customized to your prescription and lifestyle — the widest zones we offer. ฿40,000+

Not sure which tier fits your prescription and lifestyle? That's exactly what the in-store lens trial is for — try Zeiss, Essilor, Hoya, Nikon and Shamir progressive designs before committing.

What actually changes between tiers: the width of the clear, distortion-free zone for reading, intermediate, and distance vision. Higher tiers widen every zone and shrink the blurred edges — here's the simulated difference.

02 · Premium

03 · High Premium

Why Prices Vary

What Actually Changes
Your Final Price

The "from" price gets most people in the door — but three things determine what you'll actually pay. None of this is hidden; it's what any honest optical shop should walk you through before you order.

Every lens grade above starts with manufacturing quality control like this — it's part of what the price actually pays for.
01

Lens Index (Thickness)

Higher prescriptions need a higher-index lens material to stay thin and light. A standard index lens works for mild prescriptions; stronger prescriptions may need a thinner high-index lens, which costs more per pair.

02

Lens Brand & Design Grade

Zeiss, Essilor, Hoya, Nikon, Shamir and Tokai all manufacture lenses at different design tiers — especially for progressives, where the tier determines how wide and distortion-free each viewing zone feels.

03

Frame Choice & Add-Ons

Our published prices include a frame from our standard collection. Choosing a premium or designer frame, or adding coatings like blue light filter, photochromic, or UV protection, adjusts the total.

Our rule of thumb: if a price can't be shown on this page because it depends on your specific prescription and lens choice, we'll say so honestly and give you a real number in person or over WhatsApp — not a made-up range designed to sound impressive.

Shopping Around Bangkok

Why One Shop Quotes ฿3,000
and Another Quotes ฿30,000

Everything above explains what changes your price at Optical X. But if you're comparing quotes from different optical shops around Bangkok, the gap can be far wider than a lens-tier upgrade explains — and it isn't always about quality. Here's what's actually different, shop to shop.

A shop that lets you try the lens design in-store before you commit is selling you something you've actually experienced — not just an ad price.
01

Genuine Lens Tier Differences

Some of the gap is legitimate — the same lens index and design-grade differences covered above exist across every shop in the city, not just ours. A shop quoting more for a freeform progressive isn't necessarily overcharging you.

02

Trying Before You Buy

A shop that lets you try the actual lens design in-store before you commit is selling you something you've experienced. A shop that only advertises a headline price and expects you to commit on the spot is asking you to trust an ad.

03

What's Actually in the Quote

A low number can mean a rushed refraction by untrained staff, a basic frame, and no remake policy if the prescription feels wrong. A higher number can include a full exam by a qualified optometrist, a proper frame fitting, and a real adjustment period. Ask what's included — not just what's charged.

04

Real Budget Tier vs. Bait Pricing

There's a genuine ultra-budget tier in Bangkok — real product, honestly priced low. There's also loss-leader pricing: an eye-catching number in the window designed to get you seated, followed by an upsell once you're already committed to being there. Both exist; only one is what it looks like.

05

Who's Actually Testing Your Eyes

Some shops have a licensed optometrist on staff conducting the exam. Others have sales staff running a basic auto-refractor check and calling it an eye exam. Ask directly who will be testing you and what their qualification is — it's a fair question anywhere in Bangkok.

A licensed optometrist and standard diagnostic equipment behind the exam — ask who's actually testing you, wherever you go.

A caution worth noting: a price far below the going market rate isn't always a bargain. It can sometimes mean outdated stock, a lens index or coating that doesn't match what's on the sticker, or materials that don't hold up the way the quote implied. That's not true of every low price — but it's worth asking direct questions before you commit, wherever in Bangkok you're buying.
